Easy Tips to Teach your Child to Brush
It can be difficult to teach children to brush their teeth twice a day for at least 2 minutes a day. At Greene Endodontics, we believe that each person should have their natural teeth for their lifetime and good oral hygiene starts with starting good oral hygiene habits while young. There are a few ways to encourage children to brush for the whole 2 minutes, twice daily that are recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA).
Four Simple Tips:
- Use a timer. This can be a timer on a phone or clock.
- Brush to a song. Let the child pick a song and brush for the entire length. The good part is, most songs are well over 2 minutes so you can get some extra brushing time in.
- Sticker chart to track brushing.
- App to track and time brushing. Our favorite is Toothbrush Timer.
